Telepizza and Telefónica launch click&pizza, first device to order just with a click

Telepizza and Telefónica have created Click&Pizza, a new concept for food delivery service, executed just through a click. Thereby, both companies put together their capacities in a technological innovation challenge adapted to the Internet of Things.

Click&Pizza is an independent button, with its own battery, which could be stacked to the fridge by Telepizza’s clients and, just pushing it, they could order their favorite meal from any location. Thus, the clients will receive their pizza without needing to make anything else, either calling or an additional procedure via mobile or PC.

 

To obtain this service, the user will just need to be registered in Telepizza’s website (www.telepizza.es), have at least one order form to his address and link this orders to Click&Pizza. The first ten devices will be given by the restoration company through a contest convened in the social networks.

Therefore, the digital transformation has also arrived to a traditional activity, such as handmade pizzas and the food delivery service.

“Our aim is to provide every client the possibility to immediately order from any location inside their homes. The Internet of Things will help us to develop the multi-channel or, which is the same, a higher diversity of access channels to our products, besides speeding up and approaching our services to the clients’ day-to-day actions, who are also continuously searching solutions that help to manage their daily actions”, explains Emilio Tovar, Telepizza’s System Director.

The Click&Pizza initiative is part of Telepizza’s strategy to respond the new consumption and social habits tendencies, which both demand multi-channel capacity to try and acquire products, as well as services and purchases with immediate effect based on new, quick and simple interfaces.

Telepizza experienced an important growth in online sales in food delivery market, which already represented a 25,2% of 2013 final results in Spain. Also, sales through mobile devices represent a 27% of e-commerce total sales and the Spanish company’s website (www.telepizza.es) also hosted 18 million visits in 2013.

The button constitutes the first app of an ambitious R&D development by Telepizza, which will include other novelty technological devices of ‘Internet of the Future’ and ‘Internet of the Things’ to help develop pizza orders through other devices.
